How to install any gamemode on your GMOD server

Method 1: Manually installing game modes​

  1. Once you have the game mode that you want, ensure that the gamemode file is in a .zip format
  2. Upload to the gamemode folder in your file explored on your server
  3. Restart the server to extract the contents from the .zip file.
  4. Open the server’s config files and change the game mode to the one that you would like. Note: The name of the gamemode will be the name of the folder you uploaded into the ‘gamemodes’ folder
  5. Note: If you would like to load Sandbox or Trouble in Terrorist Town, use sandbox and terrortown respectively

Method 2: Using the workshop​

  1. Simply search for the gamemode that you want and click install
  2. Open the server’s config files and change the game mode to the one that you would like. Note: The name of the gamemode will be the name of the folder you uploaded into the ‘gamemodes’ folder

Method 3: Using the Startup Tab

  1. Navigate to the Startup Tab on the side menu
  2. Scroll down until you see Game Mode
  3. Type in the gamemode that you want your server to be
